I'm very happy to announce that once again I'll be part of the Newcastle Writers Festival. However, this year I'm doing something a little different; being part of an event where art and writers come together for a cross-disciplinary showcase. I'll be joined by four other Hunter region storytellers – Dael Allison, Joanna Atherfold Finn, Morgan Bell and Micheál Lovett – where we will read live 500-word pieces inspired by striking works from local artists. The event will be hosted by Dael Allison at the Port Stephens Artisan Collective on March 26.

And while I've got your attention, just a reminder that my only art exhibition in Australia this year is just around the corner. Paper Chained International, which features over 150 artworks from prisoners in over 40 prisons across 12 different countries, will be held at The Creator Incubator in Hamilton North from February 12-22, 2026, with a launch party at 6pm on Saturday February 14. I'm very happy to be given a chance to curate this show again, after it toured to Brisbane last yeasr and Sydney in 2024. can read more about that in my last post, and see the details about it on the gallery website here. Hope to see you at one (or hopefully both) of the events.
